On Monday North Korea conducted a nuclear test. The latest news, according to Reuters, is that North Korea has informed China that they plan at least one more nuclear test this year. Hear what nationally-known sanctions expert, Dr. George Lopez has to say about this at Monday's Great Decisions event.
Dr. Lopez served on the United Nations Panel of Experts for monitoring and implementing UN Sanctions on North Korea from October 2010 until July 2011. He also served as a Senior Jennings Randolph Fellow at the United States Institute for Peace in Washington, D.C. from 2009-2010.
Lopez, Hesburgh Chair at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies of the University of Notre Dame, has appeared on numerous news programs and also written on the violence in Syria. During these past five days major media outlets have sought his opinion on sanctions against North Korea following their nuclear test.
